Mobility Trends Report

Vancouver’s residents are gradually driving and walking more compared with the first weeks of self-isolation. According to Apple Maps Mobility Trends, although we’re seeing more cars and pedestrians, public transit share is relatively stable at around 81% lower than the pre-isolation baseline. We should keep in mind that “The goal of transit, right now, is not competing for riders nor providing a social service. It is helping prevent the collapse of civilization.”, according to Transportation Consultant Jarrett Walker.
