How coronavirus is disrupting public transit

The City of Vancouver has seen a significant drop in public transit demand based on data collected and published by TransitApp. TransitApp helps millions of commuters navigate their destinations without losing time. They recently shared data shows how often app users looked up transit information during covid19. The attached graph illustrates how those daily patterns have changed in Vancouver by comparing it with before self-isolation was recommended. Daily rush hours have been shifted and spread out. Current commuters have occupations that tend to have early, fixed start times, moving morning peak hours from 7 am to 6 am. Also, earlier and later returns spread out the afternoon peak hour.
